What We Do

Shelter

You shall treat the alien who resides with you no differently than the natives born among you;
Have the same love for him as for yourself.
~ Leviticus 19:34

Shelter is one of our most fundamental needs and one of our most fundamental rights. At La Posada Providencia, our clients find not just shelter, but a safe haven, a place of acceptance and nurturing.

Three main buildings:

  • a dormitory for men
  • a dormitory for women and families
  • the main building with offices, classrooms, kitchen and dining areas.

La Posada is a safe place for people to recover from a long, difficult journey and to prepare for the next stage of their lives.

Clients live in community, with assigned chores, sharing meals and meal preparation duties.
